According to an International Energy Agency analysis, the ever-expanding use of air conditioners in homes and offices around the world would be one of the prime drivers of global electricity demand over the next three decades.
According to the report, the worldwide stock of air conditioners in built spaces will increase to 5.6 billion by 2050, up from 1.6 billion today. This equates to 10 new ACs sold every second for the next 30 years!
To give you an idea of what that means for the environment, We will be putting out 10 times the Greenhouse gasses in the environment, leading to a 3-degree rise in the global temperature, which is enough to raise the sea levels and submerge some of our dearest coastal places and cities.
